At the rate technology continues to change and we are constantly evolving, the chances of you switching careers isn’t just a probability – but it can be expected. But as others mentioned, it does depend on you, and what you’re changing to. Going back to medical school to begin life as a surgeon may not be ideal, but there are plenty of other professions you can pursue.
Also keep in mind we are living longer … and debt is increasing. Gone are the days of working for the same company for several years and retiring at age 65 to sail off into the sunset! But I would argue that knowing how to build your brand and relevance and being able to reinvent yourself is as important as learning how to read.
There’s no better way to do all this than by tapping into and expanding your network. There are so many advantages involved in doing so! And enhancing your career opportunities is one of them.
